Everything you need to close the till.
For stores that want it on autopilot.
Z Reports is an app that lives inside Shopify POS and produces an end-of-day Z report — the cash-up summary retailers use to close the till. In a couple of taps it totals your sales, payments, refunds and counts for the day so you can reconcile the drawer, keep a record and get out the door. It's free to install and use, with a Plus plan for automatic scheduling, saved history and more.
Gross and net sales, refunds, a breakdown of payments by type (cash, card, gift card and so on), your transaction count, customer count and your top-selling products for the period. Everything you need for an end-of-day reconciliation, on one tidy summary.
Today (the default), yesterday, this week or month-to-date, plus a custom date range. Custom ranges can go back up to 60 days — enough for end-of-day and end-of-period cash-ups without ever leaving the till.
On the day you issue them, not the day the item was sold — so refunding last month's order shows on today's report, which is what keeps the report matching the money that actually moved today. Shopify gives apps the last 60 days of orders, so where the original sale is older than that it sits outside what Shopify shares and its refund won't appear. Worth knowing for a cash refund on an old order: the money leaves the drawer that day, so note it alongside your cash-up. A card refund goes back to the customer's card and doesn't affect your cash. Card refunds often sit as pending in Shopify for a day or so while they settle; the report counts them on the day you issued them either way.
Yes. Choose how channels are counted: combined (POS and online together), separated side by side, POS-only, or online-only — so the numbers match how you actually run and reconcile your store.
Yes. If you run more than one store or till, each location reports on its own POS sales, so the numbers stay separate and every shop reconciles its own drawer. Each location can also fold in online sales if they want them included — or leave them out — so both head office and individual stores see figures that match how they actually trade.
Email is built in — send a copy to yourself, your bookkeeper or head office in one tap, straight from the till. Emailing one recipient is free; Plus adds unlimited recipients. You can also print: on iPhone and iPad it prints via AirPrint, and on Android through the standard print dialog, to any normal printer. Printing straight to a POS receipt printer isn't possible yet — Shopify doesn't currently let POS apps reach the receipt printer — but we'll add it as soon as they do.
No. Z Reports runs inside the Shopify POS app on your existing till hardware. There's nothing to install on your storefront and no changes to your theme or products.
It reads your orders securely through Shopify to build the report and makes no changes to your store. Your report figures are computed from your live Shopify orders — we never keep a copy of your order history. Your settings and a small account record (your store, contact and plan) are stored on our server, along with your saved reports — kept until you delete them or uninstall, so each report always knows where the last one finished and no sale is counted twice or missed. Free shows you your 5 most recent; Plus opens up the full history, with the trend chart and per-report export and delete. Nothing is sold or shared with any third party. See our privacy policy for the full detail.
The Free plan covers the full end-of-day report — every section, run from POS or your admin, emailed to one recipient, and exportable to CSV — because every retailer needs a reliable cash-up. Plus is $4.99/month (14-day free trial) and adds automatic scheduled emails (daily, weekly and monthly), unlimited recipients and saved report history. See the pricing for the full breakdown.
Z Reports is live on the Shopify App Store, so you can install it on your store today. It's free to install, and the full end-of-day report works on the Free plan as soon as you add the tile to your POS — no trial to start and no card needed.
